Please find attached several events that are happening in the Metro Vancouver Area with Regards to Refugee Issues, please share this with anyone you may think would be interested.

  • Between two Homes — The Syrian Experience in Greater Vancouver Sept. 17that Canadian Memorial Church, Vancouver

 

  • Together Through Art — A creative class for Syrian and Canadian Kids September 25th  at the Ismaili Centre Burnaby

 

  • Metro Vancouver Refugee Response Team — Networking Event on October 1st  in Burnaby
    • This event will provide Information on Private Sponsorship, give opportunities to Lean and discuss settlement Issues and approaches, stories from refugees, networking with Private Sponsors and other volunteers. (more Networking meetings to be scheduled in the Metro Vancouver region in the coming month).

Join us at the 2016 BC TEAL Annual Conference

Serving New Arrivals: The BC TEAL Refugee Tutoring Project

Members of the BC TEAL Refugee Tutoring Project Committee will be hosting a panel presentation at the 2016 BC TEAL Annual Conference.

Date: Saturday, April 30th

Time: 10:45 – 11:3o am

Description: 

The BC Refugee Project ​provides TEAL members ​with an opportunity ​to share their English language teaching expertise by volunteering to tutor​ and teach refugees​ unable to attend government-funded language classes​ in the Lower Mainland. The project’s ​goals, development, and website of electronic resources will be presented and discussed by the panel.
